Club champs are now done and over with for this year.

We made it the full 3 rounds this year.

With only 11 women in the field, we had 2 divisions/grades. Last year, I played and won C grade. This year, I played in B grade.

I can’t say I played my best golf in any of the rounds, but going into the final yesterday, I was sitting in the lead 5 shots ahead of second place.

The final round is a seeded draw where we play as a group of the top 4 in your division/grade.

I shot a whopping 62 on the front 9. 10 shots more than everyone else in my foursome. The back half wasn’t too much better.

I came in with 114 off the stick to finish second 5 shots behind first place.

Each round had its challenges.

Round 1, we played early so it was teeth chattering cold out the entire time we played.

Round 2, we played mid morning. It wasn’t the warmest of days, especially when the rain started. We played half our game in the cold with rain.

Round 3, the seeded draw. It’s always played at the end of the field. It was a long, slow round. Sunny, but cold. By the time we finished, we were starting to lose daylight. We were all frozen and none of us played a very good game, but I played an absolute shocker. My worst round in a long time.

There‘s always next year right!?

Congratulations to Annabelle who won the scratch event and gets to see her name in gold letters on the honour board.
